Following a detailed planning meeting and approval of our quotation, we were pleased to be awarded the contract.
The area to be refurbished was a breakout area, used by office personnel to play games at lunchtime and generally chill out. The existing suspended ceiling and partitioning forming this room were all removed to allow for the new layout.
The refurbishment project was begun at a weekend so that partition walls forming the Meeting Room could be installed without disturbing any office personnel.
The Komfort Komfire 100 partitioning system formed the two end walls, providing good sound insulation between the new Meeting Room and neighbouring offices.
The construction of one of these walls was made extra thick using an extra layer of partitioning framework and plasterboard. This extra thickness allowed the installation of a television screen and two display shelves. This design maintained the clean lines of the wall and hid the unsightly brackets and cables.
A 10mm thick Frameless glass partition wall erected between the two end walls formed the Meeting Room and included a full-height American Black Walnut door unit with matching frame forming the entrance. This door and frame was purpose made to match the long table by Forza Doors, who are our specialist door manufacturer.
The British Gypsum Casoline MF suspended ceiling system created the ceiling within the Meeting Room. This system uses a galvanised steel framework fixed to the building structure covered with plasterboard, joints being concealed with a plaster skim coat and finished with coats of white emulsion paint.
A suspended strip light, downlights in the ceiling and feature pendant fitting above a coffee table in the soft seating area were all designed to create a welcoming and homely atmosphere.
