Kyocera SGS Precision Tools Europe, based in Wokingham, Berkshire, they are a world leader in solid carbide tool technology and provide high-performance tooling in the machining and metalworking industry. They required their existing showroom to be enlarged both in height and width to accommodate a new large machine. This machine was an essential piece of equipment since it was to be used to demonstrate their high-performance machine tools.

Following a detailed planning meeting and approval of layout plan and quotation, we were pleased to be contracted to carry out the required alteration.

We extended the existing Komfort Komfire 75 series partitioning, enlarging the showroom by 3.6 metres, including a new feature window unit. We also formed a large opening within the new partitioning to provide future access for large machines. This new opening was left open, and space left for future temporary exhibition stands necessary to showcase our customer’s products.

The new partitioning was erected to a freestanding height of 3.6 metres, allowing the suspended ceiling within the extended area to be installed at an increased height of 3.55 metres. This increase in ceiling height was ideal and allowed sufficient headroom for the customer’s new machine.

The ceiling tiles used were from the Armstrong Dune eVo range. These tiles are 600 x 600mm square, laid within a white Armstrong 24 XL exposed grid, and were a perfect match to the existing area. The ceiling suspension wires were extended from the structural purlins of the workshop roof and secured to the grid framework.

With the partition walls decorated with white emulsion paint, we finished the job to the satisfaction of our customer.
